Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By creating a Threshold account or using getthreshold.link, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. The service

Threshold gives you one shareable link for your contact information and socials. You decide what's open to everyone, what requires a request, and who gets access at each tier — and you can revoke that access at any time. Threshold is currently free to use.

3. Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping access to your email account secure, since that's how you sign in.
• One account per person. Don't create an account to impersonate someone else or a brand you don't represent — usernames that look like an impersonation attempt may be reserved or removed.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your content

You own whatever you add to your profile — your name, bio, links, contact details, avatar. By adding it, you give us the limited licence needed to store it and display it to the people you've authorised (or the public, for anything you've marked Public). We don't claim ownership of your content and won't use it for anything beyond running the service, unless we ask you first.

Don't add content you don't have the right to share, or that's illegal, harassing, or fraudulent.

5. Access, requests & revocation

This is the core mechanic, so it's worth spelling out exactly what Threshold does and doesn't promise:

• Locked information is only sent to a visitor's browser once you've approved their request at the matching tier — we withhold it at the server until then.
• Revoking or blocking someone stops future access through Threshold immediately.
• We can't control, and aren't responsible for, what someone does with information after you've approved their access to it — the same as sharing anything with anyone. Approving a request is a decision you make about a specific person; make it deliberately.
• An expiry you set on a grant ends that access automatically when it lapses, with no further action needed from you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, harvest, or attempt to bulk-extract data from Threshold profiles.
• Use the request system to harass, spam, or repeatedly badger someone who has denied you access.
• Attempt to bypass, probe, or attack the access-control system, or otherwise access information you haven't been granted.
• Use Threshold for anything illegal, or to impersonate another person or organisation.
• Interfere with the service's normal operation (e.g. excessive automated requests).

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

7. Availability & changes

Threshold is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee (no SLA), and is currently free. We may add, change, or remove features, and may introduce paid tiers in the future — if we do, we'll give you clear notice before anything you're already using starts requiring payment.

8. Termination

You can stop using Threshold at any time. Delete your account from your dashboard — it's permanent and immediate, removing your profile and the access history tied to you; see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that covers. If you can't reach your account, email hello@getthreshold.link instead. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical.

9. Disclaimers & liability

Threshold is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Threshold isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0, as the service is free). Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll update the date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify you by email.
